"Ignore the people that are talking behind your back. That's where they belong, behind you..."
Hi! I am Steven a junior and love spending time with my friends. I enjoy playing sports, being an entrepreneur, and learning. I am so excited to be a part of the Abusive Relationships program at the Jewish Family & Children Services. According to loveisrespect.org, there are approximately 1.5 million high school students affected by physical abuse from a dating partner. This is an unacceptable and undeniable truth that must be told across the nation. In an everyday high school environment this issue of abusive relationships and bullying is an elephant in the room. It is imperative that we spread awareness, educate, and interact with our youth to empower them against this. I hope that through this initiative we can inspire others to not only see self-worth, but also help see worth in others.
Having the opportunity to work with teens, being a teen is something truly special and unique. It allows for me to reach others on a great level of understanding. I believe that if we spread the dangers and horror of these problems, we can ultimately save people.
